Sometimes surprising a friend is so much fun. ( Let’s hope this is one of those times.) I am friends with Adam + Olivia’s mom, Kim and really wanted to surprise her by taking a few pictures of her kids together. I know she hasn’t done a family session in a very long time and who knows if life will actually come together for them them to shoot one this fall , so I figured photos of the kids together was a definite must if I could pull it off.

The best part of this is that she is finding out RIGHT NOW by reading this blog post. (so fun!)

Clearly, I was able to make it happen and I am so thrilled with how they turned out. I am very appreciative to Adam who changed in the car so his mom wouldn’t see him looking fancy again and get suspicious. :)

Here’s how it went down.

I knew I would be shooting both kids and I also knew that Kim would likely be attending both sessions. As such, I was basically resigned to the fact that I wouldn't be able to make this happen. BUT WAIT!!! There’s more. On the day of Olivia’s session (which had been rescheduled several times) I reached out just to “make sure” mom would be attending and learned that she actually had a conflict and wasn’t going to be able to make it. EUREKA! My brain wheels starting turning, I reached out to both Adam + Liv to see if they were down for it and then waited by my phone for hours until they felt like responding to me. (haha)
